Emerging Artists for Impact Award 2026

The Emerging Artists for Impact Award 2026 is an inaugural national open call presented by the International Art Project Foundation (IAP) to recognize exceptional emerging visual artists whose work demonstrates artistic excellence, originality, and the potential to create meaningful social impact through the visual arts.

As a nonprofit organization, IAP connects art with philanthropy, education, and community engagement, using the power of visual art to create tangible local and global impact.

Twenty artists will be selected through an independent jury process for awards and inclusion in a curated exhibition presented during Miami Art Week 2026 at the International Art Project Foundation Gallery in Miami Beach.

A total of 20 artists will be selected.

Grand Prize Winner
One (1) artist will receive:
– $3,500 Grand Prize
– Recognition as the 2026 Emerging Artists for Impact Award Grand Prize Winner
– Inclusion in the Miami Art Week 2026 exhibition
– Participation in the official Opening Reception on November 30, 2026

Award Finalists
Nineteen (19) artists will each receive:
– $1,500 Finalist Award
– Recognition as a 2026 Emerging Artists for Impact Award Finalist
– Inclusion in the Miami Art Week 2026 exhibition
– Participation in the official Opening Reception on November 30, 2026

Applicants must:
– Be at least 18 years old.
– Be currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) or Master of Fine Arts (MFA) program; OR
– Have graduated from a BFA or MFA program within the past two (2) years.
– Submit original artwork completed within the past two years.
– Be the sole creator and copyright holder of the submitted work.
– Be able to comply with all exhibition, shipping, and participation requirements if selected.

Yes. The Emerging Artists for Impact Award is a national open call for eligible emerging artists
in the United States.

Selected artists are responsible for professionally packing and shipping their selected artwork to IAP in Miami Beach within the designated shipping window. Approved inbound shipping expenses will be reimbursed in accordance with IAP policy.

IAP welcomes contemporary visual artwork across disciplines including:
– Painting
– Drawing
– Sculpture
– Photography
– Printmaking
– Mixed Media
– Fiber Arts

All work must be original, professionally presented, suitable for exhibition, and completed within the past two years.

Two-dimensional artwork: Maximum 55 inches high × 40 inches wide, including presentation materials.

Three-dimensional artwork: Maximum 55 inches high × 40 inches wide × 24 inches deep
and 35 pounds.

Canvas paintings must be professionally stretched and should not include decorative frames unless the frame is integral to the artwork.

Works on paper—including photography, printmaking, drawing, watercolor, and similar media—must be professionally framed in a simple matte black gallery-style frame. White archival matting is recommended when appropriate.

Applicants may submit up to three (3) completed artworks.

Applicants may provide 1–3 images per artwork. Multiple views are encouraged for sculptures, three-dimensional works, and works requiring additional visual documentation.

If selected as an award recipient, one (1) of the submitted artworks will be selected for the exhibition.

– Artist Statement — maximum 500 words
– Current CV or Résumé — PDF, maximum 3 pages
– Proof of BFA/MFA enrollment or eligible graduation
– Up to three completed artworks
– 1–3 images per artwork

– Artwork description — maximum 150 words per artwork
– Previous exhibition history, if applicable

The jury will independently evaluate eligible applications according to the published selection criteria, including artistic excellence, originality, technical proficiency, conceptual strength, overall portfolio quality, and alignment with the mission of the International Art Project Foundation.

The Emerging Artists for Impact Award Exhibition will be presented at the International Art Project Foundation Gallery in Miami Beach, Florida, during Miami Art Week 2026.

The exhibition will run November 30–December 6, 2026, with the official Opening Reception on Monday, November 30.

If selected as the Grand Prize Winner or an Award Finalist, one (1) artwork from your application will be selected for exhibition.

By accepting the award and executing the required Artist Agreement, ownership of the selected artwork will transfer to the International Art Project Foundation in accordance with the terms of that agreement.

The artwork will remain with IAP following the exhibition and may be used by the Foundation to advance its charitable mission, support nonprofit partnerships, and create tangible community impact.

The artist retains copyright to the artwork, subject to the permissions granted to IAP under the Artist Agreement.

The Emerging Artists for Impact Award is designed to connect artistic recognition with charitable impact.

The selected artworks become part of IAP’s collection and support the Foundation’s broader mission of transforming fine art into meaningful local and global impact through its nonprofit partnerships and community initiatives.

In this way, the award provides emerging artists with financial recognition, professional exposure, and a Miami Art Week exhibition opportunity while allowing their artwork to contribute to IAP’s ongoing charitable mission.

Selected artists are responsible for professionally packing and shipping their selected artwork to IAP during the designated shipping window.

Artwork must be packed using durable, reusable materials with appropriate corner, surface, and impact protection.

Approved inbound shipping expenses will be reimbursed after the artwork has been received, inspected, and all required documentation has been approved.

IAP may retain and reuse the original packing materials for the safe storage, transport, or future delivery of the artwork following its transfer to the Foundation.

The International Art Project Foundation will coordinate and determine installation.

IAP will determine and install the appropriate hanging hardware and reserves the right to determine final placement, lighting, installation, and presentation in accordance with the exhibition’s curatorial vision and gallery standards.

Applicants will receive confirmation that their application has been successfully submitted.

Eligible applications will then proceed through the independent jury review process. Award recipients are scheduled to be announced on October 19, 2026.

Selected artists must confirm participation and complete all required Artist Agreement and participation materials between October 20–26, 2026.

Submission of an application does not guarantee selection.

Applicants should carefully review all information and materials before final submission. Applications cannot be edited after the submission deadline of September 25, 2026 at 11:59 PM Eastern Time.

Due to the competitive nature of the national open call, not all applicants will be selected.
